New Proposed Overtime Rule to Be Published - Isafnow.tempurl.host

As noted previously in Week In Review, the Trump Administration will be proposing new overtime regulations.

Unlike the Obama Administration’s rule that would have more than doubled the minimum salary level required to exempt executive, administrative and professional employees from eligibility for overtime, the new proposed rule would increase the current threshold to $35,308 from the current $23,660.

The additional total annual compensation requirement for the highly compensated employee exemption has a proposed entry level of $147,414 per year under the new proposed rule.

Unlike the previous Obama Administration rule, no “automatic” updates are included in the new proposed rule.

Once the proposed rule is published in the Federal Register, the public will have sixty days to submit comments on it.
