Father’s Day might not be thought of as the typical flower-giving holiday, but for customers looking to show their appreciation to their father figures or important men in their lives, it’s the perfect time to send plants or flowers. Make sure your customers know you have flower arrangements and plants that would be perfect Father’s Day gifts.

To remind your customers that men love receiving flowers, too, the Society of American Florists has a variety of social media graphics to mix into your marketing push. When customers come in to shop, share these tips with them to help create the perfect gift for dad:

• Men are stimulated by color and are visually oriented. Research shows that men prefer vivid colors such as yellow, orange and red.
• Flower arrangements with a contemporary, linear or natural style are best. Other best bet picks include green or flowering plants.
• If the recipient has a hobby, let customers know how you can highlight it. For example, if he is a golfer, tuck a box of golf balls into the arrangement or basket. If he likes cars, add an auto magazine or two. If he’s a big sports fan, utilize flower colors that represent his team.
