4 Practical Tools to Help Florists Drive Sales on V-Day - safnow.org

Each year, Valentine’s Day is one of the busiest holidays for florists, and this year presents additional operational challenges. Valentine’s Day 2021 falls on a Sunday, during a holiday weekend in the midst of a global pandemic. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, let the Society of American Florists help you prepare.

SAF’s Valentine’s Day Resource Center is available on the SAF homepage. On the page, florists can find the most relevant industry information in one central location to provide easy access to everything you need for a successful Valentine’s Day.

Resources Include:

  • Social media tools: Remind customers that you are open, operating safely and ready to assist with all of their Valentine’s Day needs. Download and post pre-made social media graphics and website banners to promote the holiday on your channels.
  • Valentine’s Day news and trends: Read about tactics your fellow industry members are employing and review holiday trend information and fresh insights to help position your business as the go-to holiday vendor in your community.
  • Industry data: SAF surveys can help you benchmark and strategize for the biggest floral holidays. Plus review the Nov/Dec issue of Floral Management Magazine, which is filled with insights on supply chain issues and real tips on planning and preparation.
  • Media talking points: As a shop owner, you are the spokesperson for your business and the local flower expert for your community. Feel prepared to be the face of your business by reviewing talking points, ways to generate media attention and how to combat negative publicity.

In the coming weeks, SAF will highlight the best ways to use each of these resources to promote your business leading up to February 14—stay tuned.

If you missed it: make sure to watch SAF’s Gear Up for Valentine’s Day virtual event where industry panelists provided advice on supply chain slowdowns, logistics, operations, safety, marketing and more. Listen to the recordings here (use password Valentine0214).
