Young farmer hydroponics is monitoring the quality of water used to grow crops. In his hand he holds a glass tube containing test substance. In keeping with the scheduled fee increases noted in an October 2015 rule, the Agriculture Quarantine Inspection (AQI) treatment monitoring fee charged by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) was increased to $190.

At the end of 2019, the AQI fee will be fully phased-in when it will be increased to $237.

More information can be found the AQI User Fee page on the APHIS website.

The AQI program inspects international passengers and cargo at U.S. ports of entry, seizing prohibited material, and intercepting foreign agricultural pests to protect American agriculture.
