When the Tampa Bay Lightning made it to the Stanley Cup finals, Art Conforti, PFCI, immediately jumped on the hockey team’s achievement with a new contest.
Appealing to locals’ excitement for the Tampa Bay Lightning, Beneva Flowers created a contest and bouquet special.

The owner of Beneva Flowers in Sarasota, which is a mere hour’s drive from Tampa, quickly purchased two tickets for Game 2 of the finals (Saturday, June 6) to give away in his latest contest. To enter, fans had to register through the shop’s FloralApp.
Getting customers to download the app is a never-ending goal for Conforti. That’s because FloralApp captures valuable information, namely email addresses, which the shop adds to its database for e-marketing purposes. And the convenience of the app enhances the likelihood they’ll choose Beneva Flowers the next time they need to buy a gift.
Beneva Flowers marketed the contest on Facebook, via email, and with postcards attached to all arrangements delivered this week. Within 48 hours of announcing the promotion, the shop had 86 entries.
Blown away by that response, “we thought we’d carry the Lightning theme over to our $20 Tuesday,” said Lindsay Zimmer, Beneva’s vice president of operations. The weekly promotion, which includes delivery, featured a bouquet of irises and white roses to correspond with the hockey team’s colors. The shop shared the image on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and through email marketing with the catchy tagline: “Lightning never strikes the same place twice. Get this deal while you still can.”
