The Department of Labor (DOL) has issued new rules that, effective January 1, 2020, will increase the minimum salary that employers must pay employees for them to qualify for the white collar and the highly compensated exemptions to the federal overtime pay requirements.
What do the new overtime rules mean for employers? The Society of American Florists helps members figure it out thanks to its long-standing relationship with the Small Business Legislative Council, a coalition of trade associations like SAF that share a common commitment to the small business sector of the economy.
Jessica Summers, Strategic Policy Director of the SBLC, will recommend the steps employers need to take before the rules go into effect during the Oct. 24 WebBlast, “Understanding the Newest Final Overtime Regulations.” The WebBlast takes place 12:30-1:30 p.m. Eastern and is FREE for SAF members as long as they list “SAF” under “Which SBLC member association are you affiliated with?” when registering.
