Goodbye summer, hello fall! School is back in session in some areas, and stores have rolled out fall décor. Have you thought about your fall lineup of arrangements?
In the July/August issue of Floral Management, senior contributing editor Katie Vincent talked with Leanne Kesler, AIFD, PFCI, director of the Floral Design Institute in Portland, Oregon and J Schwanke, AAF, AIFD, PFCI, host of the PBS series “J Schwanke’s Life in Bloom,” about their favorite flowers and foliage for pumpkin designs.
“Working with pumpkins is great fun,” Kesler says in the Fresh Choices column. “To keep with the essence of autumn,” she gravitates to products such as dyed preserved eucalyptus — “a beautiful coppery brown” — and burgundy ‘Safari Sunset’ Leucadendron.
Check out the berries, foliage and flowers featured in the Fresh Choices column to find inspiration for your fall arrangements, and find pumpkin design recipes in the Business of Design column.
